Yellow Rose Mint Candy

Into a large bowl,  whip together 1/3 cup soft butter , 1/3 cup light corn
syrup, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon mint extract, few drops of yellow food coloring and 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar.    After thoroughly mixed, roll out the candy dough into small balls. Press into rose shaped plastic candy molds .  Place in the refrigerator for half an hour or until firm.  Gently remove from the molds and cover with plastic wrap.  Do not serve for 24 to 36 hours so to give the mint flavoring time to become enhanced.

Nana Gay:
Make a German choc. cake according the the recipe on the box. When you bring it out of the oven, poke a bunch of holes in the top and then take a jar or squeeze bottle of carmel syrup and pour over the holes.  Cool or refrig.  Before serving spread CoolWhip on top and then break up ( put the pieces in my little chopper) about three Heath or (or shoot what is the name of the other one like that--- I want to say Smores and that isn't quite it) and sprinkle all over the top.  You will think you died and went to heaven. No calories of course!!!! I use the 12 oz. squeeze bottle of carmel. Try it, you'll like it!!!
